For the Find & Replace and Mass Update actions, you can limit the fields that are available for updating. This way users cannot update certain fields in bulk, but can still edit these fields on single records.
To exclude fields from updating:
- In DAP Setup, go to the Action Library.
- At the 'Find & Replace' or 'Mass Update' action line, click Edit.
- In the 'Exclude Fields' block, click + Add Object if the object is not present yet.
- Enter the object you want to exclude fields for and click Save.
- On the right-hand side, in the Add Fields search box, find the fields you want to exclude. Click on a field to add it to the exclude list.
- Add more objects and fields if needed.
- Remove any field by clicking its Delete icon, or remove the configuration of an entire object in one go with its Delete button. All affected fields will become available again for updating in the action.
- When you're done, click Save bottom right.
- Repeat for the other action if needed.
The selected fields now cannot be used anymore in the Find & Replace and Mass Update actions. Do note that they can still be set for updating in any Macros based on these actions.
