Update Instructions

This new release of Duplicate Check introduces Search Indexes, which will optimize the duplicate finding process. In order for search indexes to work correctly, some changes need to be made both in your Dynamics environments and in Duplicate Check itself.

In the environments where you are using Duplicate Check:

  • Enable Dataverse Search
  • Configure the Quick Find view of the DC Record Index table
  • Mark the DC Record Index table as searchable for Dataverse Search
In Duplicate Check:
  • Enable creating search indexes for newly created or updated records
  • Create search indexes for existing records: 
    • Create search index jobs in Duplicate Check, and 
    • Run these jobs in DC Local

Make sure to first make the environment changes, and only then the Duplicate Check changes.

New
  • Search Index - Create and manage search indexes to optimize Duplicate Check for finding duplicates. A search index will automatically be created on insert and update for every record in the database, to ensure rapid, precise and fuzzy search results. View the index status for each entity, and recreate with a batch job if needed. Read more here.
Improved
  • DC Job - When running a DC Job to find duplicates, choose to compare all records or a subset of records, with all records or a subset of records. For example, compare only the records that were created today against the entire database, or compare records owned by user X with the records owned by user Y.
  • DC Settings - Set the number of jobs to be displayed on the DC Jobs page.
  • DC Settings - Set the time between status updates on the DC Jobs page.
  • General - Pages are updated and displayed quicker now.

Update Instructions Check the default settings for the new 'Disabled Records' setting, and update to match your processes where needed. This setting defines which records are regarded as disabled in your environment.
  1. In Duplicate Check, go to Manage Entities
  2. At an entity, click Manage and open tab <Entity> Settings
  3. Find the Disabled Records setting
  4. Check the default values, and update where needed.
  5. Publish the changes and repeat for the other entities.
Improved
  • Finding Duplicates - Duplicate Check only marks active records as duplicates when searching for duplicates. Define for each entity which records are regarded as disabled in your environment. All other records will be included.

  • DC Merge - After running a DC Job, automatically merge duplicates found in the job according to set criteria, with the new Auto Merge feature. Read more here.
  • DC Merge - On the new Merge Settings tab, define a default rule for selecting what will be the Master record, and default rules per field for selecting which value will be preserved on the Master record at merge. Read more here.

  • Duplicate Prevention - When saving an existing record, decide whether a search for duplicate records should be initiated only if scenario fields were updated, or any field on the record. Define this in the Feature Activation settings.
  • General - Discover Data Flows, Plauti’s new import feature for Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics. In Plauti Cloud, in the Data Importer menu, create Data Flows to process data in bulk. Import CSV or Excel files of any size into a Salesforce or Dynamics environment, with support for any Object or Entity type, and handy features like previous mapping memory. Perfect for data migration projects. Read more here.
    For now you can only insert data as new records into a Dynamics or Salesforce environment, but in the future updating, exporting and other data processing options will be available.

  • DC Merge - Did you encounter a duplicate when processing a record, or found a number of duplicates with a DC Job? Merge them into one record, up to 15 records at a time. Choose which values to keep, and get rid of duplicate data. Read more here.‍ 
  • DC Live - Find duplicate records when opening a record. With this setting enabled, DC will check for duplicates when opening an existing record. If duplicates of the record are found, merge them right away on the "Duplicates Found” tab. Read more here.
